Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau made their first public appearance as a couple on Saturday, attending a cabaret show at the ‘Crazy Horse Paris’ to celebrate the singer’s 41st birthday.
Media reports suggested that the outing marked the first time the pop star and the former Canadian prime minister had appeared together publicly since rumours of their relationship began earlier this year.
According to TMZ, the pair were photographed leaving the theatre hand in hand and smiling after the performance. Perry wore a bright red dress, while Trudeau opted for an all-black outfit as they enjoyed their evening in the French capital.
The sighting came only days after another round of speculation fuelled by a set of yacht photographs that seemed to make their romance official. The Daily Mail had published images of the two on the upper deck of Perry’s yacht, the Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara.
Perry, dressed in a dark one-piece bathing suit with her hair swept casually into a bun, was seen kissing Trudeau, who was shirtless and in jeans. The grainy images, reportedly taken by a nearby whale-watching boat, appeared to confirm what had previously been whispered — that the pop icon and the former Canadian leader had grown close.
Their relationship first drew attention in July when they were seen dining together in Montreal, followed days later by Trudeau’s quiet attendance at one of Perry’s concerts.
Both had ended long-term relationships: Perry had recently separated from actor Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau had parted from his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
Despite occasional criticism surrounding her recent releases, Perry remains an active performer. Her ongoing ‘Lifetimes Tour’ — launched in Mexico City in April in support of her album ‘143’ — includes stops across North America, Australia and Europe.
Celebrating her birthday on October25, Perry shared a light-hearted Instagram story featuring a post from X that joked about how her mother had “released Katy Perry” much like a new album. Earlier in the week, she had celebrated her star sign with a post reading, “We have officially entered Scorpio.”
For Perry and Trudeau, their Paris outing seemed to seal what months of quiet sightings and summer whispers had already suggested — that their relationship had moved from rumour to reality.
