A seaside refugee camp in the Gaza Strip is reeling from an airstrike that authorities say has killed scores of Palestinians. Hamas released two Israeli hostages into Red Cross custody Monday, a move for which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office thanked Egypt and the International Red Cross. As tensions rise in the Middle East, Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned of a “likelihood” of “escalation by Iranian proxies” against U.S. forces, and said the United States is “taking steps to make sure we can effectively defend our people.”
