Islamabad to Enforce Mandatory E-Tags for All Vehicles Starting Next Week – SUCH TV

In a major step toward strengthening security and traffic management in the federal capital, the district administration has announced that vehicle e-tags will be mandatory for all vehicles using Islamabad’s highways starting November 18.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon said on Friday the initiative is part of broader measures aimed at making the federal capital one of the safest cities in the country.

According to the district administration, e-tag stickers will be issued from various designated points across the city beginning November 18. Citizens will be informed in advance about all official issuance locations to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

DC Memon clarified that e-tags can only be obtained from these designated points, and vehicle owners will be required to present their original vehicle registration card when applying for the sticker.

He stated that the e-tag requirement will apply to all vehicles—whether registered in Islamabad or any other province—if they are using the capital’s highways.

Officials say the new system will help improve security checks, regulate traffic flow, and support law enforcement efforts through better monitoring and identification of vehicles entering or driving within the federal capital.
