India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has issued a precautionary advisory to its employees in the Middle East, asking them to remain indoors and avoid non-essential travel as geopolitical tensions in the region intensify.

In an internal communication to staff, the company said all associates in the Middle East have been advised to stay indoors, follow instructions issued by local authorities, and refrain from travelling within or outside the region. TCS has also suspended all incoming and outgoing business travel to and from the Middle East, including transit, as airspace across multiple countries remains shut due to flight disruptions.

The company has activated its country leadership and human resources teams to reach out to employees, especially those stranded in affected and neighbouring regions. A call tree service has been put in place to contact impacted staff on priority and ensure their safety.

TCS said its HR and country leadership teams are in constant touch with employees and their families across locations and are closely monitoring their well-being. The company is also coordinating with local authorities and Indian embassies to track developments and provide timely updates as the situation evolves. It reiterated that the safety and well-being of its associates and their families remain its top priority.

TCS has over 9,100 employees across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, serving more than 150 clients across 11 industries, according to information available on its website.

Meanwhile, senior executives from other major IT firms such as Infosys and HCLTech have reportedly been stranded in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. They were travelling to attend the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona when flight disruptions began.

The advisory comes amid escalating hostilities between the US-Israel alliance and Iran. Over the weekend, the US and Israeli forces launched joint strikes on Iran, following which Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on US bases in the region. Subsequent strikes were reported across key cities including Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Manama and Riyadh, further heightening tensions and disrupting air travel across the Middle East.
