Pakistan and India on Wednesday exchanged prisoners from the recent war between the two countries, which saw Pakistan armed forces destroying multiple targets deep in India.
The exchange of prisoners of war took place at the Attari-Wagah Border Post, where both sides handed over one soldier each.
As per security sources, Pakistan handed over Pernam Kumar Shaw of the Indian Border Security, while India handed over Muhammadullah to Pakistan.
Muhammadullah belongs to the Pakistan Rangers.
Pakistan handed over the Indian border guard captured a day after an April attack in Indian-occupied which killed 26 people, the Indian army said.
In a post on X platform, Indian army said Border Security Force soldier “Purnam Kumar Shaw, who had been in the custody of Pakistan Rangers since 23 April 2025, was handed over to India.”
The handover was “conducted peacefully and in accordance with established protocols,” the BSF said.
