During the polio vaccination campaign in Skardu, when a parent refused to give polio drops to his child, the Assistant Commissioner administered the polio drops to the child’s father as well.

According to the District Health Officer, during the campaign, 38,000 children across the district were given polio drops, with strong support from the local community.

However, a resident of Ganche in Skardu district had initially refused to vaccinate his 5-year-old son. In response, the Assistant Commissioner gave the polio drops to both the child and the father.

The district administration stated that the drops were given to the father to reassure him of their safety.

Meanwhile, the child’s father admitted that refusing the polio drops for his son was a mistake.
