Adam Sandler is all set to reprise his role in Happy Gilmore 2, a sequel to the 1996 hit movie.
The original movie, which was released almost 30 years ago, featured Adam as a leading man, who unraveled his talent for golf in Happy Gilmore after he failed as an ice hockey player.
Adam rose to fame with his role in the movie, which is still considered one of his funniest movies, per Screen Rant.
The Hustle actor recently offered a tease of an upcoming sequel after he appeared on the Dan Patrick Show in December.
“I don’t know 100%, but I think around July,” said Adam when asked about the release of the movie next year.
The Murder Mystery star explained, “We’re trying to get it done in time for July. You never know what’s going to happen. We’re just finishing today, it’s the last day.”
The outlet reported that the sequel was confirmed earlier this year after Netflix came onboard.

Besides Adam, other cast from the original movie are also making a comeback in the sequel including Christopher McDonald as the villainous Shooter McGavin, as well as reporter-turned-love interest, Virginia Venit, played by Julie Bowen.
Not only that, the actor is bringing along a few new and familiar faces who joined the sequel. They include Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny and Margaret Qualley among the dream cast for the sequel.

Happy Gilmore 2 will see a return of original movie co-writer Tim Herlihy with the same director Dennis Dugan for the new movie.
In her latest interview, Adam talked about a potential sequel that will show the actor’s character in his older years who still cannot control his temper.
It is believed that Adam’s character will return to the golf world on a senior tour to play against his old enemy Shooter.
The details of the plot are still under wraps and it seems that the sequel “will remain a mystery, according to a report by Screen Rant.
Happy Gilmore 2 filming locations
It is reported that the movie’s set is located in the Highlands in New Jersey. The filming of the new movie started in September at the Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, which is home to around 54-hole golf course and it’s where the golf scenes were shot.
Adam was also spotted in Kearny as well as Loki Café in Morristown, Faubourg in Montclair, and the Farmview Golf Centre in Hackettstown among other locations while shooting the movie, which is almost going to wrap later this month.
