The best time to recite the Mahalakshmi Stotra is during dusk.
Friday is dedicated to the worship of Mahalakshmi especially for those seeking financial success and well-being.
Friday is considered auspicious for the worship of Devi Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Many people seeking financial success and well-being observe a fast on this day and offer special prayers to Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that by doing so, Devi Lakshmi blesses her devotees with abundant wealth, happiness and prosperity, ensuring they are free from financial difficulties.
Tirupati astrologer Dr Krishna Kumar Bhargava advises that performing special remedies for Devi Mahalakshmi during the Pradosh period on Friday can bring significant monetary benefits. Those who keep a fast and worship Goddess Lakshmi with great devotion on this day are believed to receive good fortune, happiness and financial gains. Additionally, Devi Lakshmi is thought to remove poverty from the lives of her devotees.
The best time to recite the Mahalakshmi Stotra, according to Dr. Krishna Kumar Bhargava, is during dusk. Reciting this stotra during the evening pleases Devi Lakshmi and is believed to fulfil all the wishes of her devotees.
During the worship, devotees are advised to offer lotus flowers and red roses to the goddess. Additionally, lighting a ghee lamp and offering rice, red vermillion, incense sticks and naivedya (food offerings) are essential parts of the ritual. Performing an arti while singing devotional songs to honour the goddess is also recommended, as it is believed to remove darkness and ignorance from one’s life. Pleasing Devi Lakshmi with such offerings is thought to bring good health, prosperity and success.
The food offerings made during the puja are usually distributed among family members and sometimes shared with neighbours, symbolizing the sharing of prosperity. In some traditions, it is also customary to give charity or offer help to those in need as a way of honouring the goddess and spreading the blessings received.
Devotees are also encouraged to include lotus seeds, a conch and yellow cowries in their worship. Additionally, including Lord Ganesha, Shriyantra and Dhanpati Kuber in the prayers can further enhance the benefits. After completing the offerings, devotees should recite the Mahalakshmi stotras to seek the goddess’s blessings.
By performing this puja, devotees aim to create an environment of abundance and well-being in their lives, aligning their efforts with the divine grace of Goddess Lakshmi.
