Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: All About the 4 Auspicious Timings, Puja Sahitya and Muhurta

The auspicious time for worship on Ganesh Chaturthi this year is from 11:03 AM to 01:34 PM. (News18 Marathi)

The 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav will commence on September 7 and conclude with the immersion of the Ganesh idol on Anant Chaturdashi, which falls on September 17

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be observed on September 7. On this day, idols of Ganpati are installed in homes and grand pandals, where elaborate decorations and processions are organised.

The 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav will commence on September 7 and conclude with the immersion of the Ganesh idol on Anant Chaturdashi, which falls on September 17.

This year, four specials prayers can be performed during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

  • Sarvarth Siddhi Yajna: From September 7, 12:34 PM to September 8, 06:03 AM.
  • Ravi Yajna: On September 7, from 06:02 AM to 12:34 PM.
  • Brahma Yajna: On September 7, from 06:02 AM to 11:17 PM.
  • Indra Yajna: On the night of September 7, from 11:17 PM to the next day.

Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Arrangements

To perform the puja, you need a Ganesha idol and wooden post and banana plants to create the mandap. Yellow and red clothes are needed during the puja apart from Janeu (sacred thread), sandalwood, durva (sacred grass), flowers, akshat (rice grains), betel nut, seasonal fruits, incense, diya (lamp), gangajal (holy water), camphor, vermilion, kalash (sacred pot) and modak.

The most important item is the Panchamrut (a mixture of five sacred ingredients), panchmeva (five types of dry fruits), mango leaves, Ashoka leaves, Ganesha Chalisa, aarti, and a Ganesha Chaturthi vrat book.

The auspicious time for worship on Ganesh Chaturthi this year is from 11:03 AM to 01:34 PM. The puja will be performed in the afternoon.
