Sitaraman also clarified the revenue share and allocation for Karnataka.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday reiterated that the Budget 2024 has kept every state’s consideration and misinformation is being spread around ignoring some states.
While speaking to the media in Bengaluru, Sitharaman highlighted the budget’s announcements.
“We have very clearly emphasised youth, MSMEs, agri research and development, and many other categories.”
Karnataka’s Budget Share
Sitharaman clarified the revenue share and allocation for Karnataka.
There’s a lot of misinformation in Karnataka including of government that the central government does not give its dues.
It’s a wrong prachaar (information) that the current state government is doing, she added.
Tax share given to Karnataka by UPA from 2004-2014 was Rs 81.71 crore and under NDA it’s Rs 2,95,818 crore.
Grants in aid under UPA’s previous 10 years regime Rs 60,779 crore and under PM Modi in the last 10 years, it’s Rs 2,36,955 crore.
She also highlighted that under PM Mitra mega textile park, Karnataka has got one park in Kalaburgi where Rs 200 crore has been allotted for it.
“We are planning to have large-scale clusters for vegetable production, this will help Bengaluru. Especially when logistics break down,” Sitaraman added.
