Pakistan has nominated five TikTok influencers in the category of Travel Content Creator of the Year, with Abrar Hassan, Zonir, Laiq Abbas, Zeenat Irfan, and Asif Ashoor making the list.
Notably, for the first time, two creators from Gilgit-Baltistan have been nominated for the prestigious award. Asif Ashoor, hailing from Baltistan, and Laiq Abbas, from Gilgit, both earned their nominations in the Travel Creator of the Year category.
Asif Ashoor and Laiq Abbas are known for showcasing the breathtaking beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan through their travel vlogs and videos, presenting the region’s landscapes and unique culture in a captivating way.
Asif Ashoor expressed his pride at being nominated in the Travel category, calling it an honor. He also remained hopeful that user voting would help him win. “I am the only content creator from Pakistan who climbs high peaks to create videos. I don’t think anyone else has made content from such altitudes,” he stated.
Asif further explained that through his TikTok content, he has shared the alluring locations and distinct culture of Gilgit-Baltistan with the world. “In every piece of content, I have showcased the positive aspects of my region to promote tourism,” he added.
Asif also acknowledged the competitive nature of the nomination, saying, “I am competing with Pakistan’s well-known TikTokers, but I am thrilled to see my name included in this list.” He thanked TikTok Pakistan for the encouragement and recognition.
Tour guide Nazir Hussain from Gilgit-Baltistan praised the nomination of both Asif Ashoor and Laiq Abbas, emphasizing the important role TikTok creators play in promoting the beauty of the region.
“It is these content creators whose videos inspire vloggers from around the world to visit Gilgit-Baltistan,” he noted. He also expressed hope that the Travel Creator of the Year award would be claimed by someone from Gilgit-Baltistan.
Asif Ashoor further clarified the voting process for the TikTok Creator of the Year award. “Final selection will be based on user voting, and the TikToker with the most votes will be declared the winner.”
He added that TikTok has a voting feature where fans can support their favorite creator to ensure their victory.
The TikTok Creator of the Year awards are held annually in Lahore, where content creators from various categories are nominated, and the winners are honored with prestigious awards.
