Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Asif Ali on Monday announced his retirement from international cricket, closing a career highlighted by his explosive batting displays.

In a heartfelt statement, Asif expressed his sincere gratitude to fans, teammates, and coaches for their unwavering support through both highs and lows.

“I am thankful to my fans, fellow players, and coaches who stood by me in every situation, whether during successes or challenges,” he said.

The 33-year-old cricketer also paid tribute to his family and friends, acknowledging the strength they provided during the most difficult times, particularly following the loss of his young daughter during the World Cup campaign.

“I am deeply grateful to my family and friends who supported me in moments of happiness as well as in life’s toughest trials.

Their strength gave me the courage to keep moving forward,” he added.

Asif confirmed that he will continue playing domestic cricket and global franchise leagues, ensuring fans will still witness his trademark hard-hitting style.

“InshaAllah, I will keep pursuing my passion by continuing to play league and domestic cricket,” he added.

Asif Ali represented Pakistan in 21 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 58 T20 Internationals (T20Is).
