The Foreign Office (FO) said on Sunday that former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who had gone to deliver aid to Gaza on board Global Sumud Flotilla and was presently in Israeli custody, was safe and soundl. The spokesman for the FO Shafqat Ali Khan said that the government was in touch with the Pakistanis, who had been detained by Israel, through a friendly European country.
He further said that the former senator would be produced in a court following which he would possibly be extradited to Pakistan.
The spokesman informed that the return of Pakistanis was being expedited, adding it was hoped that all of them would be back within the next few days.
He thanked the brotherly Muslim countries for their cooperation in this regard.
