Elton John’s composing seat is reportedly taken by a new singer for Disney’s new movie.
For those unversed, recently Disney dropped the official trailer for The Lion King spinoff, Mufasa: The Lion King.
As per this trailer, Elton John has been replaced by the American songwriter and actor, Lin-Manuel Miranda, who has also worked for various Disney projects such as Hamilton, Incanto and Moana.
It is pertinent to mention here that in 2019 when The Lion King’s remake was released, Elton John showed his disappointment by saying, “The new version of The Lion King was a huge disappointment to me, because I believe they messed the music up,” reported Variety.
The legendary singer also added at that time, “Music was so much a part of the original and the music in the current film didn’t have the same impact,” noting, “The magic and joy were lost.”
“I wish I’d been invited to the party more, but the creative vision for the film and its music was different this time around, and I wasn’t really welcomed or treated with the same level of respect. That makes me extremely sad. I’m so happy that the right spirit for the music lives on with the Lion King stage musical,” he expressed in conclusion.
