Dream of development unattainable without eliminating terrorism: PM Shehbaz – SUCH TV



Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has urged the federal cabinet members to work tirelessly to bring a developmental revolution in the country.

He was addressing the first cabinet meeting following the induction of new Ministers, Ministers of State, Special Assistants, and Advisors in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minster said the progress of all ministries will be evaluated after every three months, and the results of these reviews will be made public to achieve better outcomes.

He pointed out the immense potential in the Agriculture, Industry, Finance, Commerce, IT, Mines and Mineral and Maritime sectors, which needs to be harnessed.

He said the dream of development cannot be realized unless peace is established in the country and the menace of terrorism is eradicated completely.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the country’s remittances have increased to 3.1 billion dollars. He stressed the need to boost exports at the same pace.

He said IMF’s mission is currently in Pakistan and discussions are underway with them.

Shehbaz Sharif said a state-of-the-art Daanish University of Applied and Emerging Sciences will be established in Islamabad, with an estimated cost of 190 million pounds.

The Prime Minister said terrorism has resurfaced in the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He said security forces personnel are rendering sacrifices in the fight against terrorism which will not go in vain.

The federal cabinet has approved signing of an MoU between the National Cyber Emergency Response.

Team of Pakistan and the National Computer Emergency Response Technical Team of China to strengthen cooperation in the field of cyber security.

The approval was granted at a meeting of federal cabinet in Islamabad today, with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the chair.

The cabinet also approved an agreement between the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the United Nations International Telecommunication Union regarding the establishment of an ITU Accelerator Center. Under the agreement, Pakistan’s National Incubation Center, Islamabad, will function as an IT Accelerator Center and its capacity will be enhanced.

The cabinet also accorded approval to making the Directorate of Religious Education as an affiliated department of the Ministry of Federal Education.

The cabinet was briefed by Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal regarding the monitoring of prices of essential commodities during the month of Ramzan.

This was the first formal meeting of the federal cabinet after its recent expansion. The Prime Minister welcomed the new cabinet members.
