Crackdown on MNAs: PTI announces countrywide protests on Sept 13

PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to launch nationwide protests starting from Friday against the crackdown on party leadership after Sept 8 Islamabad rally.

A meeting of the PTI core committee was held in Peshawar, attended by key leaders including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Sources revealed that the meeting decided to initiate a series of nationwide protests, beginning on Friday. The protests will also include condemnation of the arrests of PTI leaders on the assembly floor.

In response to yesterday’s events in Parliament, the Speaker announced that action will be taken against those responsible, including filing FIRs.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja held a press conference in Peshawar, stating that certain individuals are dominating the country’s political and democratic process. He criticised the last-minute legislation to prevent PTI’s rally, emphasizing that rallies have their own dynamics and cannot be ended abruptly.

He also condemned the notion that only those who bow down are acceptable, calling it an attack on the people of Pakistan.
