Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has said that peace, continuity of policies, and reforms are essential for progress of the economy.
Addressing tractor distribution ceremony for the Chief Minister’s Green Punjab Tractors Program in Narowal today, he said that the program has been launched at a cost of thirty billion rupees.
Under the first phase of the program, green tractors are being distributed to 9,500 farmers in the province, with a subsidy of one million rupees per tractor.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the need to introduce modern techniques in agricultural sector to boost per-acre yield. He highlighted the importance of measures to increase the production of wheat, rice, and cotton.
At another tractor distribution ceremony in Sheikhupura today, Federal Minister for Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain said the government is taking every possible measure to facilitate farming community.
He said Pakistan’s economy is improving, and the government’s successful economic policies are being appreciated at international level.
