She said her prayers had been answered as her son had become a hero for Pakistan and raised the national flag on a global platform.

The javelin thrower achieved a historic milestone by winning the first individual Olympic gold medal for Pakistan after 40 years at the Olympics. The 26-year-old’s remarkable achievement sent waves of joy across the country, ending a 40-year wait for Olympic glory.
