While most users faced problems with fund transfers on the app, many others also flagged issues with the Paytm website.
Online payment platform Paytm faced an outage on Wednesday evening. Many users complained about their digital wallets not working. Outraged netizens said online that they were unable to see their account balance, add funds or make transactions.
According to the data shared by outage tracking platform Downdetector, there was a sharp rise in complaints around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. While most users faced problems with fund transfers on the app, many others also flagged issues with the Paytm website.
Meanwhile, the company tweeted a post for its customers to inform them about the same. It read, “Hi, we’re aware of the technical issue persisting in the Paytm app. We’re sorry to place you in this situation and assure you that we will get it resolved as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.” Take a look at the post:

After the post was shared, Paytm users shared their complaints in the comments section. One of the users wrote, “I have multiple screenshots of my Paytm wallet, all taken from different parts of the app.” Some show one balance (original + added), and some show a lower balance (original). Escalation via their app led to just looping.”
Another user said, “Paytm care, why is Paytm not allowing me to check my wallet balance? It says, Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again. Please check.” “Issue with the Paytm wallet. Unable to transfer amount and balance is showing as nil,” lamented another.
After many complaints, Paytm Care expressed regret over the complaints of users and assured that it would resolve this technical problem as soon as possible.
Earlier this year, Paytm launched a new feature called ‘Pin Recent Payments’ to the Paytm app. The ability to pin contacts is very handy for those who frequently send money to a certain contact. Making payments is simple and quick because the pinned profile will always be visible at the top. However, on the downside, one can pin just five contacts on the top for now.
