Meta has introduced several new features to its Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, revealed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg via a recent Instagram reel.

According to Zuckerberg, the new features include a cat-eye frame style, video-calling, Apple Music connectivity, and the launch of the multimodal AI assistant for the United States and Canada, The Verge reported.

In the Instagram reel, Zuckerberg, 39, demonstrates the video calling feature as he talks to Eva Chen, 44, who runs fashion at Instagram.

The duo discuss about the new Skyler frames and chain lengths, a nod to recent craze among netizens over Zuckerberg wearing them.

According to The Verge, the existing Wayfarer and Headliner models are also getting some new colors.

The Headliner, with rounder lenses, is also getting a low-bridge fit for those whose glasses slip down their face.

The video-calling feature, which, according to Meta’s blog notes, is rolling out more gradually, enables you to call up friends or family via both WhatsApp and Messenger.

Meanwhile, the Apple Music feature pairs the app with the glasses and enables you to control Apple Music hands-free to play any song, playlist, station, or artist.

You can also request recommendations based on your listening history.

Meta’s early access program for its multimodal AI back, launched in December, is now available to all US and Canada glasses users in beta.

The feature allows you to snap pictures with the glasses and have Meta’s AI help you with Instagram captions, translating a sign, and more.
