We will soon be seeing Olivia Colman in season 6 of the popular comedy-drama series, Only Murders in the Building.
Her role was announced on Instagram, through a video starring existing cast members, Meryl Streep, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short.
“We have had so many amazing guest stars for Only Murders in London,” Selena can be heard saying.
Then Meryl adds, “Yeah, but we’re just missing one!” as Martin appears on screen, and says, “Oh, how exciting!” To which Selena jokes, “No, Marty, you’re already in the show,” before Olivia walks into frame, in costume.
A whole host of British stars are set to appear in the new season of the hit show, including Dr. Who alumni, Peter Capaldi and David Tennant.
They will be on screen along with Nicola Coughlan, Richard Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders, Martin Freeman, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi and Lesley Nicol.
The show is usually set in New York, but this season has moved away from the now-renowned Arconia building, where all of the former deaths and investigations have taken place.
No release date for Only Murders in the Building season 6 has been announced as of yet.
With the first episode of its first season being released on August 31, 2021, its official storyline states:
“Three strangers share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.”
“Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late,” it concludes.
