Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana opened up about their on-set morning routine.
Speaking with People Magazine, Nicole Kidman and her co-star Zoe Saldana revealed that they have a pre-filming routine which they do on the set of Special Ops: Lioness.
Revealing the details, Zoe said, “After catching up personally every morning for like five or 10 minutes, then immediately we get into hair and makeup and we are discussing the scene.”
The Avatar star shared their way of getting answers when they require help from the executive producer Taylor Sheridan, saying, “We tag-team finding out where Taylor is and seeing if he’s going to call us back because, when we need him, it’s always having to do with the work.”
However, Nicole also reflected on her experience with the veteran actress, remarking, “I just love her,”
Adding, “She’s just so fun, and she’s so generous, and a girl’s girl.”
Speaking about their bond, the Big Little Lies star said, “We come into work, but then we have so many other things that we rely on.”
“So the work is here, but then we have all this,” she added.
Meanwhile, Zoe described what she admires most about Nicole: “It’s wonderful because I respect her so much.”
“Nicole, I admire her. She’s an incredibly talented woman, but what she is first and foremost, what I love the most, is she’s a mother. She’s a daughter. She’s a sister. She’s a friend,” she said.
Pointing out, “She plays all of those roles beautifully,”
“She does it with so much love and unconditional support. That’s admirable. Everything about working with Nicole has been true joy,” the actress further added.
Reflecting on the conversation, Nicole humorously remarked, “I love that. So here we are. It’s a love fest.”
Previously speaking to the outlet, Nicole told how their friendship started through a makeup trailer in 2023. “Sitting next to each other every morning, you get to know each other very well very quickly.”
“Love at first sight,” adding to the conversation Zoe said at the time.
Furthermore, Nicole gave insights into her character Caitlyn, which she is playing in Special Ops: Lioness. She said that Caitlyn has a patriotic and strategic nature: “I think when you’re dealing with somebody like Caitlyn, she is so wired, and literally her brain has been altered by the way in which she’s been trained.”
Continuing, “So it’s not about cracking. She’s strategic. She’s able to compartmentalize. She’s built for this world and this job.”
“She’s also incredibly patriotic, and that is what she lives and dies by. She’s basically a patriot who pledges allegiance to the flag, and everyone who works for her has to do the same thing because, if they don’t, then go find another job,” Caitlyn’s portrayer further added.
