ISLAMABAD – Little relief for Pakistanis as petrol becomes Rs3.19 per litre cheaper and high-speed diesel (HSD) witnessed a cut of Rs1.50 per litre for August 7.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the revised prices will take effect from 12:00am on August 7 and will remain in force until the next fortnightly fuel price review. After latest adjustment, petrol will now be available at Rs329.82 per litre, down by Rs3.19, while the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced to Rs382.36 per litre, showing Rs1.50 per litre decrease.
The latest revision is expected to provide some relief to millions of motorists, commercial transport operators and businesses that depend on fuel, although the reduction remains modest compared with prevailing fuel costs.
Pakistan reviews petroleum prices every day based on changes in international crude oil prices, refined petroleum costs, the rupee-dollar exchange rate and other applicable taxes and levies. The latest price cut comes amid continued volatility in global energy markets, with authorities adjusting domestic fuel rates in line with market trends.
