Justin Bieber has declared himself a better ping-pong player than Novak Djokovic before the tennis legend proved him wrong.
The singer took on Djokovic during a bonus table tennis match at this year’s Fanatics Games, part of Fanatics Fest in New York City. Ahead of the showdown, Bieber didn’t hold back when talking about his skills.
“I am a superior ping pong player, he knows it,” Bieber said in Fanatics Fest: All Access, a new special streaming on ESPN.
Djokovic admitted he had underestimated the singer’s athletic ability but ultimately won the match.
“I must say, I underestimated Justin’s athletic abilities,” the 24-time Grand Slam champion said before defeating Bieber at the table.
After the loss, Bieber graciously accepted the result. “He got me today, so I gotta give him his flowers,” the singer said.
Although he lost the ping-pong battle, Bieber finished as the overall winner of the Fanatics Games, beating a field packed with sports stars, including Djokovic, Tom Brady, Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Wembanyama, Livvy Dunne, Jordan Chiles and Rob Gronkowski.
The 32-year-old took home the $1 million grand prize but donated the entire amount. He gave $500,000 to be split among the 50 fan participants in the competition, with each receiving $10,000, while the remaining $500,000 went to charity.
