Elon Musk announced in 2020 that he had decided to “sell almost all physical possessions” to concentrate on developing electric vehicles, creating rockets, and overseeing his other businesses, The Cool Down reported.
Subsequently, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX liquidated all of his properties and relocated to Boca Chica, Texas, into a rental house where SpaceX’s research and testing facility is located.
In a tweet on social networking site X, Walter Isaacson, Musk’s biographer, provided a behind-the-scenes look into the modest home of the richest man on the planet.
He wrote in the caption, “Musk decided to sell his five grand houses and to have as his primary residence this spartan two-bedroom house in Boca Chica, TX, where we would meet and he would sit at this wood table and make phone calls.”
The photo showed a section of Musk’s living area and a basic open kitchen. A large man’s jacket can be seen draped over one of the dining chairs in the kitchen, while a wooden coffee table is sitting in the middle of the living room.
Isaacson said that in his upcoming book, Elon Musk, which comes out on September 12, he will discuss why the billionaire decided to scale back.
In a tweet in June 2021, Musk wrote about his home, “It’s kind of awesome.”
