Being a mom with an acting career and other side hustles, Jennifer Garner has set a wonderful example for her kids to enjoy the work.
The 13 Going on 30 actress, who shares three kids with ex husband, Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14, opened up about how she navigates her busy life being a mom of three and never feels guilty for being occupied with her job.
The dotting mom said on Today With Jenna & Friends, “I get so much joy from what I do.
“I really believe that any job I’ve had I’ve really loved getting in there and doing the best—I mean, I like to work. I’m a worker bee.”
However, Garner admitted she used to go through the mother guilt, she recalled on the show, “When they were younger, I struggled with it so much.”
“But now that they’re older they’re like, ‘Thank you for showing us that work is something to be enjoyed.’ It doesn’t have to just be tedious all the time,” Garner revealed.
The 54-year-old also noted that another reason for working guiltfree and being “pretty good” at her job is that she does what she loves.
She then urged people to embrace their careers.
“Let go of the guilt,” she begged. “It doesn’t serve anyone.”
The Alias actress, who recently wrapped filming on The Five-Star Weekend, told InStyle in a recent conversation that when she does act, it comes from a genuine love of the craft.
“I feel lucky because I really come at (acting) from a place of joy,” Garner noted, adding, “I’m not tortured. It’s not filling a hole. I just really love to do it. And I love to be around people who love to do it.”
During the interview, she also called acing a “selfish” job as it is not like a typical 9-to-5 when one “pickups and drops offsf” kids to schools and makes “it home for dinner.”
“When I work, I don’t apologise to my kids for it. I do thank them for being so sweet about it,” she added.
