Pakistan and Iran have agreed to expand cooperation in security, counterterrorism, cyber-security and immigration.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni in Islamabad reviewed Pakistan-Iran ties and discussed the latest developments in the region.

Momeni thanked Pakistan for the warm welcome extended to the Iranian president and his delegation during their visit to the country.

Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the Iranian interior minister on the joint declaration issued in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, saying the agreement would not have been possible without the sincere efforts of the Iranian government and its leadership.

He said Pakistan has always sought peace and stability across the world and it would continue its efforts for lasting peace in the Middle East.
