Amy Adams recalls terrifying encounter with a stabbed man: ‘People were screaming’

Amy Adam once helped a “bleeding” man who was stabbed on the streets of Los Angeles.

The Nightbitch star made a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast and recalled the frightening real-life moment happened while she was out with her family in Santa Monica.

Adam looked back that they were “coming out of their favorite restaurant” at that moment they saw “the first people on the scene,” seeing a man who had been attacked.

“These people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, ‘He’s dying!’ And my husband’s like, ‘That’s blood!’” Adams continued.

The Man of Steel actress told her husband to stay with their daughter while she and her father rushed to help.

She recalled saying, “you stay here with our daughter,” while she and her father “ran over” to the injured man, who had been “stabbed in the neck.”

“So he was bleeding and his friends were freaking out,” she said.

Adams explained that they used beach towels to help stop the bleeding.

“Luckily” they had towels with them, she said, and her father “applied pressure” because he had experience from working on sets.

“And I’m sitting there somehow going, ‘You need to calm your pulse rate. Take a deep breath in,” she said, adding she tried to stay calm and help the man.

“I was like, ‘The more you struggle, the faster you’re going to bleed. Just lay down. Let’s elevate this,’” she added.

Adams met the man same man again a year later at a restaurant.

“And I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s you.’ And it was him.”

She called the reunion “crazy,” and said the man became emotional and “all teary.”
