After being estranged for years, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are finally reuniting. Insiders have revealed that recent tragedy of their old friends Rob and Michele Reiner brought them back together.

An insider told Radar Online, “Tom met Nicole around the same time Rob and Michele became a couple, and their relationships followed a similar arc.”

Tom and Nicole were Hollywood power couple during their 11 year marriage. They adopted two children together: Bella and Connor. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2001.

Now, sources claim that the death of Rob and Michele has brought the former couple closer and they’ve been “reminiscing about how close they were to them when they were a young couple” – even going on double dates.”

As per the insider, “Nicole knows her kids are really looking forward to having their parents in the same room again, so she’s determined to follow through.”

While the source noted the step is “huge” given that both Tom and Nicole haven’t spoken in years, “enough time has passed that they’ve both been able to let it go.”

“They’ve had some really positive conversations recently, which has everyone hoping this could actually move forward,” the source also revealed.

Rob and Michele Reiner’s murder was reportedly a “gut check” for the Mission: Impossible star about how much he and the Babydoll actress “shared and still have in common.”

“They’re supporting each other through all this,” the source added. “Finally they’re at a place where they are ready to break bread together.”

It is pertinent to mention that Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are also single currently as the actress filed for divorce from Keith Urban and the actor’s parted ways from Ana de Armas last summer.
