Following the award season buzz, Kate Hudson shared some insights into how she took a break.
The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star was nominated for an Oscar award for her performance in Song Sung Blue in the category of Best Actress.
Though Kate did not win the accolade, she admitted the atmosphere of excitement around it was “so fun.”
Now, after the buzz, she chose to take some rest from work and spent some quality time with her kids.
Kate, who is mom to three kids, Bingham, 14, Ryder, 22, and Rani Rose, 7, told People at the premiere of Netflix’s Running Point season 2, “I took spring break with my kids and I just shut everything down.”
The Almost Famous actress also reflected on how she built a close bond with fellow Oscar nominees during the season. Other stars nominated for the same category were Emma Stone for Bugonia, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and, at last, Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, who won the Oscars.
Kate gushed, “I’m so lucky that I got to be able to have that experience. And I loved everybody on the ride with them. All of the people that were on that journey were so awesome, so fun, so together, and I just loved everything.”
In the film Song Sung Blue, which is a biopic on a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder, Kate played the role of Claire “Thunder” Sardina alongside Hugh Jackman, who played Mike “Lightning” Sardinia.
