Mel B is looking back at a moment from her early career that she now describes as “horrifying.”
The Spice Girls star recently recalled being asked to weigh herself live on television while pregnant.
Speaking to Page Six at a Revive Collagen event, the 50-year-old reflected on the incident, which took place when she was 23 and expecting her eldest daughter, Phoenix.
“I mean, I remember when I was pregnant at 23 that I did an interview, a live interview, and the host was like, ‘Can I weigh you, how much you weigh?’” she said.
“That would never be allowed in this day and age, you know?”
Despite the uncomfortable moment, Mel B said that she brushed it off at the time.
“I was like, ‘I don’t care… how much I weigh. I’ve got a baby growing inside me.’ I’m not very precious, but that wouldn’t happen in this day and age,” she continued.
The singer, who rose to global fame alongside Spice Girls, also addressed the idea of revisiting such moments in a documentary.
She claimed would support it as long as it remained authentic, saying, “But I have nothing, like, horrendous or bad. I had an absolute blast.”
