Marissa Bode shares a ‘no clickbait’ shocker on social media

Marissa Bode gets candid about drama at the airline gate

Marissa Bode, best known for starring in Wicked, is furious and went on social media to vent about what she says is discrimination against her.

As per her claims, Southern Airways barred her from boarding because of her disability, calling the behaviour by the staff “awful”.

“I was denied boarding a flight because I’m disabled,” the actress alleged in her fiery clip.

Things went south when Bode reached out to Southern Airways staff for her connecting flight to Pennsylvania after taking a flight from a different airline.

“I got to the gate and was like, “Hey, could you help me locate my boarding pass?’ And the two people at the gate look at me, and they’re like, ‘Can you stand?'”

“And I said, “No.”‘ And they said, ‘I’m sorry, because of that we’re going to have to deny you boarding,’ she alleged.

What further shocked Bode was that all passengers had to climb stairs in the airline’s planes, meaning no separate arrangements for the people with disabilities.

“They proceeded to tell me all the planes within this airline have stairs to get onto the plane. Wild. Never heard of that before… You’re telling me none of the people who have flown on your plane before are disabled?”

Aside from this, the staff at Southern Airways also disallowed the wheelchair weighing 35 lb, a problem despite Bode claiming her team had already spoken with the airline beforehand.

“It is always something when I’m flying,” she said. “It is very rare that I’m flying and there isn’t a problem with my chair or I’m not talked down to.”

Southern Airways has yet to comment on the matter.
