Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been hit with a massive penalty.
After Justin Bieber and Anyma’s performances ran past the city’s strict curfew during the festival’s second weekend, the music festival promoter Goldenvoice has been hit with a $44,000 fine tag.
Officials in the city have revealed that Bieber and Anyma’s sets exceeded the 1:00 a.m. curfew.
While Anyma’s set exceeded the time by nine minutes, resulting in a $24,000 fine, Bieber’s headline performance exceeded the limit by two minutes, resulting in $20,000 fine.
However, this isn’t the first time Coachella had an issue with the curfew as in 2009, Goldenvoice paid a $54,000 fine after Paul McCartney exceeded the time by 54 minutes.
Moreover, the promoter spent over $168,000 in fines in 2023 after Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Skrillex, Fred Again, Frank Ocean, and Four Tet went over their curfew times.
And in 2025, the festival was fined $20,000 after Travis Scott went three minutes past curfew.
Despite all of this, the second weekend of Coachella continued to draw massive crowds.
The second week of Coachella held from April 17 to April 19 featured Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G’s return as primary headliners. However, the key additions included Kacey Musgraves, Anyma, Rezz, and more.
