Twenty-one Israeli soldiers were killed in southern Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said, in the deadliest single attack on the country’s forces since they began their operation in the enclave. IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said the soldiers were rigging up buildings with mines when a missile appeared to trigger the mines and collapse the buildings with the soldiers inside.
