Pakistan has refuted circulating social media claims suggesting it mediated US-Iran talks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through spokesperson Mr. Tahir Andrabi, clarified that multiple media reports and social media posts misrepresented Pakistan’s role in ongoing regional conflicts.
“These false insinuations attributed to purported official sources are baseless and a figment of imagination,” the statement read, noting that references in Friday’s briefing at the Foreign Ministry were misreported.
The spokesperson urged all media outlets to exercise caution, avoid speculation, and rely on officially issued statements to ensure accurate information is disseminated.
In a phone interview with NBC, US President Donald Trump said the downing of an American F-15 jet over Iran would not impede negotiations with Tehran.
“No, not at all. No – it’s war,” Trump stated, emphasizing that diplomatic and military operations are proceeding simultaneously.
Trump refrained from revealing details about the ongoing search-and-rescue mission, describing it as “complex and active,” and criticized the media’s coverage of the operation.
