Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs receives shocking good news amid imprisonment

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s prison sentence might be reduced and he may be a free man 10 earlier than his original 50-month sentence at the at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution

The 56-year-old is currently at the low-security prison located in New Jersey, after he was convicted last summer on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

The disgraced rapper was previously due to be released from prison on June 4, 2028, but that was moved up to April 25, 2028, earlier last month.

However, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, his release date has changed once again, and he is now expected to be released on April 15, 2028.

Combs was arrested on September 16, 2024, in a New York hotel after a grand jury indictment and following the arrest, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, released a statement saying, “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs.”

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal,” he added, trying to clear the star’s name.

He was facing five felony charges, including one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, all of which he pleaded not guilty to.

After an eight-week-long trial, the jury deliberated for three days before he was found “guilty” of violations of the Mann Act, a federal law that criminalizes the transportation of individuals across state lines “for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery, or for any other immoral purpose.”

He was acquitted of the more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which could have resulted in a lifetime of jail.

Before his sentencing on October 3, Diddy had already spent around a year in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after he was denied bail.

He was sentenced to four years and two months in prison with time served, along with a $500,000 fine in addition to five years of supervised release.

Prosecutors wanted Diddy to spend 11 years and three months behind bars, while his defense team argued for no more than 14 months, which would have amounted to time served.

However, as per NBC News, U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months, explaining that the prosecutors’ proposal was more than what would be “necessary,” but the defense’s request “would not be sufficient.”

Before his sentence, Combs did express shame and remorse over his actions, saying, “My actions were disgusting, shameful and sick. I was sick, sick from the drugs, I was out of control, I needed help and I didn’t get the help.”

He continued: “I lost my self-respect. I have been humbled and broken to my core. I hate myself right now, I’ve been stripped down to nothing. I am truly sorry for it all, no matter what they say.”

As of now, Sean “Diddy” Combs has since been accepted into a drug-abuse rehabilitation program at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, which could help reduce his sentence with good behavior credits.
