PM Shehbaz Seeks to Further Strengthen Pakistan–Indonesia Economic Ties – SUCH TV

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen economic relations with Indonesia and to benefit from Indonesia’s experience in developing a Sovereign Wealth Fund model.

The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with a five-member Indonesian delegation led by Rosan Roeslani, Minister for Investment and Downstream Industry, who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to accelerate efforts to transform the existing Preferential Trade Agreement into a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by 2027.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is keen to enhance economic cooperation with Indonesia, noting that the two countries share decades-long fraternal relations that continue to grow stronger over time.

He also conveyed his best wishes to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and said that the president’s visit to Pakistan last year was highly productive and contributed significantly to strengthening bilateral ties.

On his part, Minister Rosan Roeslani reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to further advancing relations with Pakistan, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kiani were also present at the meeting.
