Nineteen Indian-backed militants were killed, and 11 Pakistan Army personnel, including two officers, were martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Orakzai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
According to ISPR, the operation targeted the Indian-sponsored proxy network “Khawarij” in Orakzai.
During an intense exchange of fire, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif and Major Tayyab Rahat, along with nine other brave soldiers, embraced martyrdom.
The nine other soldiers who sacrificed their lives include Naib Subedar Azam Gul (38, District Khyber), Naik Adil Hussain (35, District Kurram), Naik Gul Ameer (34, District Tank), Lance Naik Sher Khan (31, District Mardan), Lance Naik Talish Faraz (32, District Manshera), Lance Naik Irshad Hussain (32, District Kurram), Sepoy Tufail Khan (28, District Malakand), Sepoy Aqib Ali (23, District Swabi), and Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (24, District Tank).
ISPR stated that the operation was based on precise intelligence and aimed at dismantling terrorist networks responsible for destabilizing the region.
ISPR said that a clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area.
It added that the security forces remain resolute in eradicating Indian-sponsored terrorism, and the sacrifices of the soldiers further strengthen the nation’s resolve against all forms of militancy.
