Kanya Pujan 2025 Date And Time: The nine-day festival of Navratri, celebrating the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga, is coming to an end. After worshipping Goddesses Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri, the festivities conclude with Kanya Puja.

Also known as Kumari Puja, Kanjak Puja or Kumarika Puja, this ritual holds profound importance during Navratri. On this day, devotees worship nine girls between the ages of 2 and 10 who are dressed up beautifully.

The young girls, also known as Kanjak, are named as Kumarika, Trimurti, Kalyani, Rohini, Kali, Chandika, Shambhavi, Durga, and Bhadra or Subhadra. Kanya Pujan will be observed on Tuesday, September 30, this year.

Kanya Pujan 2025: Date And Shubh Muhurat

As per Drik Panchang, Kumari Puja falls on Tuesday, September 30. The Ashtami Tithi begins at 04:31 PM on September 29, 2025, and ends at 06:06 PM on September 30, 2025.

The day allows devotees to dedicate that time for auspicious celebrations, perform kanya puja, and offer prayers to Goddess Durga.

Kanya Pujan 2025: How To Perform Kumari Puja

  1. Invite nine young girls (between 2 and 10 years old) to your homes.
  2. Then, wash their feet with water, wipe them, and place them on a pedestal.
  3. After this, tie a holy thread (Kalawa or moli) around their wrists and apply vermilion to their foreheads.
  4. Following this, offer a variety of special dishes such as poori, chana, ghee halwa, coconut, sweets, and kheer to the young girls.
  5. Once done, offer them money or gifts such as new dresses, bangles, and study materials.
  6. Complete the puja by touching their feet and taking their blessings.

Kanya Pujan 2025: What To Offer

To conclude the nine-day-long festival, a special puja is performed in honour of Goddess Durga.

  1. Devotees offer flowers, incense sticks, lamps, and other sacred objects while chanting mantras.
  2. Young girls, or kanjaks, are then given dakshina (money), gifts, and prasad (holy food) to attain the blessings of all the divine forms of Goddess Durga.
