PDMA Issues Urgent Flood Warning for Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab Rivers Until September 5 – SUCH TV



The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab has issued a severe flood warning for the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers, predicting extremely high water levels until September 5. Authorities have urged residents living near riverbanks and low-lying areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. Emergency response teams have been deployed to assist affected communities, and continuous monitoring of river flows is underway to mitigate potential damages.

Residents are advised to follow official instructions and stay updated on the evolving situation to ensure their safety.

According to sources, a high flood level currently persists at Ganda Singh Wala.

More rains are expected in the upper catchment areas of the rivers till September 3, raising the risk of urban flooding in Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the Chenab River continued to wreak havoc in Punjab as after flooding hundreds of settlements, the raging floodwaters have reached Jhang, submerging 200 villages.

In Muzaffargarh, the water level continued to rise steadily. In Bhawana tehsil of Chiniot, dozens of settlements have been submerged, while crops in Shujabad have also been inundated.

High-level flood at Trimmu

A flood wave of 800,000 to 900,000 cusecs is passing through the Trimmu headworks, posing a threat to over 400 villages.

Meanwhile, the flood situation in nine districts of Punjab is feared to deteriorate further following the release of water by India into the Sutlej River, posing threats to Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, and Pakpattan.

The PDMA warned that the situation could also worsen in Vehari, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, and Multan.

After releasing water at Naina Kot, the floodwave has started moving towards Jassar and Shakargarh.

The water level at Maripattan in the Ravi River has risen further. There is also a major flood at the Balloki headworks and Sadhnai.

In Sahiwal, the collapse of the protective embankment led to flooding in dozens of villages.

Alert issued in 9 districts

An alert has been issued in nine districts of Punjab after the Indian High Commission in Islamabad informed the Pakistan government about a high-level flood in the Sutlej River.

There is a high-level flood at Harike and Ferozepur on the Sutlej River, affecting Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Vehari, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Muzaffargarh.

At the Trimmu headworks, the flood has reached an extremely high level.

Thousands of villages have been submerged by floodwaters, with crops and connecting roads underwater, and millions of people affected.

There is a high-level flood in the Sutlej River at Harike and Ferozepur, affecting Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Vehari, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Multan and Muzaffargarh.
