Mohammad Hafeez replaces Mickey Arthur as Pakistan team’s director

Former Test captain Mohammad Hafeez has been given the responsibility of Director – Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team.

In a significant move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to dismiss the entire coaching staff, including Director Cricket Mickey Arthur. The PCB, according to an official press release, has revamped the roles of the coaching staff, including head coach Grant Bradburn and batting coach Andrew Puttick.

The PCB announced that the aforementioned coaches will now be engaged with the National Cricket Academy instead of the national men’s team. Meanwhile, the board is set to unveil the new coaching staff of the Men in Green for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand soon.

“All coaches will continue to work in National Cricket Academy while PCB will announce the new coaching staff in due course for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand,” PCB release stated.

Notably, Bowling coach Morne Morkel had already tendered his resignation earlier in the week.

Mohammad Hafeez has featured for Pakistan in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 119 T20Is and has scored 12,780 runs and has taken 253 wickets.

Hafeez was recently part of the PCB Cricket Technical Committee. The former all-rounder was part of Pakistan Men’s team which won the ICC Champions Trophy in England in 2017.
