By India Today Sports Desk: Former Australia batter Matthew Hayden has raised injury concerns for Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, after the team’s game against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, 12 April, at the MS Chidambaram Stadium. Hayden spoke after the match and appraised the viewers of the situation on the host broadcaster. He said that he was not trying to ring any alarm bells, but felt that as broadcasters, they should not be giving false expectations.
“We will not give fans the false expectations that nothing’s wrong. There is definitely something wrong with MS Dhoni. His running between the wickets is usually quite electric, which was not there today. As the innings progressed on, we saw him limping quite heavily. There are some question marks, that I am sure that MS Dhoni will have to answer and the medical staff will get straight into it. He will want to keep playing in the tournament,” Hayden said after the game.
Social media users noticed the limp as well and lauded MS Dhoni’s sensational 17-ball 32 that almost took Chennai over the line against Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Needing 21 from the last over, Dhoni smashed 2 sixes in the first 3 balls of Sandeep Sharma over, but was not able to hit a boundary or six in the final ball of the over, when CSK needed 5 off the last ball of the game.
