Eclipse shadow from space
This image, captured during the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999, offers a unique perspective. Taken from the Mir Space Station, it shows the Moon’s shadow projected onto Earth during a time when space exploration was still in its progress of an annular eclipse. This series of images captures the progression of an annular eclipse, which features a “ring of fire” appearance when the moon partially covers the sun.
